Pita Pizza Serves two - prep time and cook time 20 minutes
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 Whole Wheat pitas
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Toppings. Suggestions: Artichoke hearts, Diced green peppers, Sliced mushrooms.
  1. Preheat oven to 375°
  2. Split the pitas open, making 4 pizzas. Place on a cookie sheet, rough side up, and put in the oven for 5 minutes to crisp.
  3. While pitas are crisping, in a small saucepan simmer the tomato sauce, garlic, and spices for 5 minutes
  4. When the sauce is finished simmering, take the sheet out of the oven and pour the sauce onto each pita, spreading with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle toppings on pita and put back in the oven for 5 more minutes
